Born on September 17, 1973, this native New Yorker pop diva began her career as a dancer, despite being afflicted with Crohn’s disease, a chronic intestinal disorder. Anastacia appeared as a dancer on Club MTV and in music videos before she was discovered as a finalist on the MTV talent show The Cut. Her dance records have reached multiplatinum status in Europe. Her American debut, Freak of Nature, was released in June 2002.
