Born on July 23, 1971, in Champaign, Illinois, singer and fiddler Alison Krauss helped to bring about a rebirth of interest in bluegrass music. She was a child prodigy, studying classical violin at age 5. At 10 years old, she had her own band. She recorded her 1987 debut, Too Late to Cry, when she was just 14 years old, with the help of her backing band, Union Station. Though her third album, 1990s Ive Got That Old Feeling, won the Best Bluegrass Recording Grammy, Krauss breakthrough came with 1995s platinum-selling chart-topper Now That Ive Found You.Reviews
