Born on June 1, 1974, in Ottawa, Ontario, Alanis Morissette began writing and playing songs as a little girl. She began performing professionally at age 10 on the Canadian childrens variety show You Cant Do That on Television. By 14, she released her dance-pop debut, Alanis. In 1995 Morissette completely overhauled her image from bubblegum to psycho-sexy and broke into the limelight with the multiplatinum Jagged Little Pill. The albums singles, You Oughta Know, Hand in My Pocket, All I Really Want and Ironic sold millions of copies and earned several Grammys.Reviews
