Former high school classmates Kurt Wagner (vocals), Jim Watkins (guitar), and Marc Trovillion (bass) formed the trio Posterchild in 1986 in Nashville. Their ranks swelled to over 12 members in this country, jazz, soul and rock hybrid. Threatened with a lawsuit, they changed their handle to Lambchop in 1993. They released their debut, I Hope You’re Sitting Down, in 1994, and on subsequent albums they developed an eclecticism that became their hallmark style.
