Lady Gaga Like You've Never Seen Her

You know Lady Gaga, right? The current queen of the pop world, the heir to Madonna's throne, the pop idol who looks like this?

Well, she wasn't always Lady Gaga. The NME recently pointed to a fascinating video of the former Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta doing her thing at a New York club about five years ago. And by her thing, we mean a sort of Macy Gray/Joan Osborne hybrid with lyrics about "Holly-WOO-ood." The club, The Bitter End, is a long-running Bleecker St. spot with a capacity around 100. If Lady Gaga played there now, tickets would cost $5 million. Oddly enough, Lady Gaga's name hasn't been added to the list of famous people who have played this tiny club. Neil Young, Lady Gaga, Cheech and Chong... all have graced the stage of The Bitter End. Presumably not on the same night.

The video, naturally, is called "Lady Gaga Before She Was Famous," and if it teaches us anything, it's that dreams really can come true.

Of course, Lady Gaga isn't the only megastar to have undergone a metamorphosis. As is somewhat commonly known, Katy Perry used to be Katy Hudson, and boy did she not sing about kissing girls. In fact, Katy (Hudson) was a Christian Music artist. "Faith Won't Fail" was released in 2001. It may be a totally different Katy, but she was hot even back then, so good for her.

And of course, there's little Britney Spears. What a cutie. How long has it been since this appearance? Her newest single, "3," concerns threesomes.

Oh, and who could forget the country twangs of Britney's former boyfriend Justin Timberlake? Certainly not us.

Or do you remember the brooding Alanis Morissette when she was just a peppy Canadian superstar simply named Alanis? Hey, and check out those dance moves.
