Buzz Aldrin Records With Snoop Dogg and Talib Kweli, Plus The Top Videos In Space!

"All you need is the rocket experience."

That is the key line from Buzz Aldrin's latest (first? only?) single "Rocket Experience." Buzz, of course, was the second man to set foot on the moon. That initial moon landing took place on July 20, 1969. Many years later, Buzz is celebrating the event's fortieth anniversary by laying down some tracks with Snoop Dogg and Talib Kweli, and also scoring some rad shades. The clip is up at FunnyOrDie. Quincy Jones makes an appearance. And some classic banter goes down:

Talib: I was shocked when Buzz hit me on Twitter.

Buzz: It sure is fun to Twitter with you!

Also of note? Buzz can't stand that Auto-Tune shit. Watch:

Years ago, when Aldrin stood on that lunar sea, staring at the beautiful blue earth across the expanse of space, he must have thought, "Damn... fuck tha haterz!"

Of course, Buzz, Snoop and Talib aren't the only artists to take on space. Here is a completely scientific survey of the Top 5 videos that feature space in some way—visually, lyrically, or other. Don't agree? Unfortunately, no one can hear you scream in space.

5. ZZ Top, "Rough Boy"

The classic ZZ Top '33 Ford coupe becomes a spaceship and heads to a spaceship car wash owned by a hot, sweaty woman.

4. Rush, "Countdown"

In 1981, Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart of Rush were invited to Cape Canaveral to witness the launch of the space shuttle Columbia. The space shuttle program was based on the starship schematics hidden as code in the liner notes of Rush's 1978 album Hemispheres.

3. Devo, "Space Junk"

There's no actual video for this classic tune from Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!, so here's live footage from a London show last month.

2. Peter Schilling, "Major Tom"

A 1983 homage to David Bowie's "Space Oddity" protagonist Major Tom by German Peter Schilling. And in a special twist, the only version with proper sound and video I could find was on some Russian site called RuTube. Pretend they're cosmonauts! Also, I don't read Russian, so I hope this embeds correctly.

1. David Bowie, "Space Oddity"

"For here
Am I sitting in a tin can
Far above the world
Planet Earth is blue
And there's nothing I can do..."
