The Crawl: Courtney Love IS Hole!

+ It's been a rough ride for Courtney Love. Raising a kid, being mad at Ryan Adams, and, well, life (sigh) have prevented her from completing a new album. And when she IS able to focus on the album, she runs into problems; Love is apparently on "her third producer, fourth studio, and lord knows how many bass players." That ain't good! Better make this album count, then. How best to get people interested? Call it Hole! Courtney wasn't born yesterday. Demo of a new song called "Pacific Coast Highway" below. [NME]

+ It's been awhile since we've heard from Sting. What's he been up to? Sitting Indian style and counting money, mostly, and also thinking about his favorite season: Winter! He's got an album coming out this fall called If On A Winter's Night. Tell us about winter, Sting: "Our ancestors celebrated the paradox of light at the heart of the darkness, and the consequent miracle of rebirth and the regeneration of the seasons." Got it! [Billboard]

+ Bring together over 70,000 people to a four day festival, and you're bound to lose one or two, right? Um, right: cleanup crews at Bonnaroo tended to piles of cans, bags of garbage, a dead body, heaps of recyclables... wait, what? [Tennessean]

+ Everyone knows Jack White likes analog, enjoys seclusion, lives in the country and could happily time travel back to the 19th century and not miss 2009 one bit. Still, it's disarming to read White's recent thoughts on the internet: “Do I really need a MySpace page for this f--king music? Do I really need to do that? There’s a part of me, that just out of spite, says I don’t want to do it because it’s so antithetical to what I do.” Guess what: you're reading this on the internet RIGHT NOW. Crazy zomg. [National Post]

+ Jeff Archuleta, father of American Idol dude David Archuleta, has pleaded no contest to charges that he solicited a prostitute in Utah. They have prostitutes in Utah? [MTV]

+ Broken Social Scene performed in Toronto last night and received some vocalization help from former member Feist, who sat in on "New Country." In the video are three of Feist's exes—see if you can name them. [The Music Slut]
