Radio On The TV: Week of June 1, 2009

The big news this week, of course, is the newest addition to the late night landscape, The Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien (isn't he just adorable?). He's bringing in the big guns this week—Green Day tonight, Sheryl Crow (is she still a big gun?) tomorrow, John Mayer Thursday, and Chickenfoot Friday. We've spoken of Chickenfoot in the past—they're the "supergroup" comprised of Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony, Coldplay-loathin' Joe Satriani and Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. You can check out Conan and Chickenfoot in one self-contained hour of television magic... what a world we live in. And last night, of course, Conan welcomed Pearl Jam as his first musical guest... video here.
Meanwhile, Jimmy Fallon quietly has the most intriguing, and most diverse lineup: Paul Simon, Dave Matthews, Doves and Mandy Moore. You may not be a fan of all of those artists, but you are likely a fan of at least one, maybe two (and maybe three, and maybe four).
Also, Ben Harper—did he pay off the bookers for every talk show in America? Every week he's on one of these things. Ben Harper and Relentless7 fatigue: catch it! Oh and, this person is on Craig on Thursday. Yes, he is a musician. And yes, he once roamed center field.
