The Bad News If you weren’t at Flavor Flav’s 50th birthday party in New York City last night then you missed Public Enemy reuniting and performing all of It Takes A Nation Of Million To Hold Us Back live onstage in front of actual human beings. As if that wasn’t enough to make you really sad that you weren’t there, know this: They tacked on a couple extra tracks at the end, songs you might have heard of like “Public Enemy No.1″ and “Fight The Power.”
The Good News
This is only the beginning! Tonight Public Enemy will perform along with the Roots on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon (does it weird us out a little to write that still? Yes, yes it does). This evening’s televised gig serves as a warm up for later this summer when The Roots will join PE on the road playing Nation of Millions at a string of dates across the country. When we heard about these shows we were like all, “sure that sounds fun, maybe we’ll go” but after hearing about last night’s show we’re changing our status update to “we are so freaking there.”
