Always dreamed of being the next Bob Marley? Or, at the very least, the next Ziggy Marley? Well, mon, put down your water pipe, put on your best novelty Rasta dreadlock hat and get out the video camera. Reggae label VP Records—the home of Sean Paul and Elephant Man—has teamed up with the country’s premiere purveyor of fast-food beef patties, Golden Krust, for the awkwardly
titled Reggae’s Golden Krust Caribbean Star Search competition. All you have to do is post your performance clip on YouTube; see this page for details. If your song wins, you’ll have the chance to
record it with “one of Jamaica’s top producers” (perhaps not as esteemed a prize as having your song promoted on a Taco Bell sauce packet). We must point out that you’ll be competing with a dude whose clip features awesome footage of some punk getting punched (voluntarily) in the face, a pickup truck getting blindsided by an 18-wheeler and an infant farting baby powder:
