Believe it or not, I used to be a squirrel hunter—I’d shoot them with a shotgun. But I retired when I was 18. Now I have pet squirrels that live out in my trees.
What’s the grossest thing you’ve eaten?
Squirrel. No doubt, squirrel.
Ever get lucky on a plane?
I wrote the theme song for my first show, Doc, on a plane. That show aired for 88 episodes and is in syndication. So that’s probably the best luck I’ve had. And I wrote it on the back of a puke sack.
Mullet philosophy?
Deep inside everybody, even your mother and aunt, there’s a mullet.
Favorite mullet nickname?
I like “the Kentucky Waterfall.” “Missouri Compromise” is great, too.
