This Truly Rocks: The Hard Rock Cafe's Online Memorabilia Collection

This post was supposed to go up hours ago, but such is the allure of the Hard Rock Cafe's online Memorabilia collection that we couldn't rip ourselves away from what may be the coolest thing on the interweb right now. Although only a fraction of the collection is offered (500 out of 70,000 items) you'll lose yourself navigating through items as diverse as Elton John's platform boots to Hendrix's guitars to a letter Janis Joplin wrote to her boyfriend.

Using Microsoft's Silverlight plugin, you'll have as much fun looking at and reading about the items as you will navigating through them. Although the user is given navigation tips, controls are so intuitive that it'll take only a few seconds to master them, as long as it takes to go from viewing the whole collection to drilling down to the minute details of Tony Iommi's bridge on his custom SG Guitar.
