SXSW 2008: Lindstrøm's Disco Inferno

If Michael Jackson wanted to make a comeback album that lived up to his pop innovator roots, he should hire Norwegian beat guru Lindstrøm to produce it. The disco maven blends warm synths and sultry beats into a natural style that's both heady and body-moving — imagine Michael's Off the Wall updated for a new century. Last night, the knit-capped Scandinavian broke off a set marked by dreamy interludes for an appreciative, blogger-heavy audience. In the following interview, Lindstrøm tells us about his unlikely music faves and even brushes off an annoying heckler:
