Late-Night Follies Our Feist Infatuation Continues
WHO: Feist
WHAT: "1234" [The Late Show]
WHY: We're still a little awestruck at the off-the-charts replay factor of Feist's excellent recent LP, The Reminder, which we still find ourselves cuing up on odd mornings, afternoons and nights. And with her record still in Billboard's top 100 after 16 weeks (at no. 99), Feist brought her friends out to help on a lovely rendition of "1234" last night. While a good 99.9 percent of viewers probably didn't think twice about the scruffy choir dressed in white behind her, indie nerds were likely geeking-out at the collected talent, which included members of indie faves Broken Social Scene, Grizzly Bear and the New Pornographers. But no amount of indie-rock heavies could take the spotlight away from Feist herself, who once again sounded incredible singing about fickle, broken hearts with sprightly glee. Given the heaps of praise lavished on the Canadian singer this year, we should probably be sick of Feist by now. We're not.
