Coachella Rage Gets Pissed, Björk Gets Brainy
A lot of sweaty music fans convened in the California desert this weekend. Some people got wasted, some danced poorly and some even blogged about it. Here are a few of our favorite Coachella links from over the weekend:
+ Nice to know Zach de la Rocha can still unleash the treasonous death threats when he wants to. "Our current administration needs to be tried, hung and shot," said the Rage Against the Machine singer onstage. Hung and shot? Isn't that a little redundant?
+ The New York Times says, "In the YouTube era, the boundaries that define when and where a concert starts and ends are rapidly blurring," as a gazillion distorted 30 second clips are uploaded to YouTube.
+ Entertainment Weekly talks to fest star Anthony Kiedis, who says fellow Coachella performers Ratatat "manage to bring a real emotional quality into electronic music that I feel in my heart." Aw.
+ An on-target Coachella Blog parody to cleanse your palette.
+ Early consensus: Everybody loves Björk and her big brain hat thingie. Watch her entire incredible set (ripped from the great sounding/looking official Coachella web stream) and, while you're in the mood, read this excellent Times interview all about her new album.
