Could Jamiroquai Make A Comeback-
American Idol contestant Blake Lewis's beat box-injected take on Jamiroquai's "Virtual Insanity" last night got us thinking about the British funksters for the first time since we watched their hideous video for "Feels Just Like It Should" a couple years back. The group may be a one-hit-wonder in the States, but they've sold 27 million albums worldwide (yeah, we were shocked too). So could Jamiroquai somehow parlay their unexpected Idol shine into more U.S. success? Doesn't look like it. After boarding a Boeing 757 to break the Guinness Book World Records for the fastest and highest gig ever performed yesterday (seriously, watch the video here), the band's famously hatted singer, Jay Kay, just announced he's quitting music. Which begs the question: Was it the embarrassment of Blake's Idol performance or the stale air in that airplane that made him give-up on a 27 million-selling career? We may never know.
