The Rocker
“The Rocker is one of the few movies about a rock drummer. It’s historic,” actor Rainn Wilson says of his new film. Known as Dwight Schrute on The Office, Wilson plays Fish, a skinsman who gets kicked out of ’80s hair-metal band Vesuvius right before they make it big and must wait two decades for his second chance at fame—as a member of his nephew’s high school garage band, A.D.D. “The only other drummer movie was The Gene Krupa Story, starring Sal Mineo,” Wilson says. “And Mineo was stabbed to death. Hopefully, we don’t share the same fate.” Before any tragedy could befall Wilson, we had him share his list of top faux movie rockers.
