I’ve been waiting for a slow news day to post this since it’s not news. It’s just the funniest thing I’ve seen in weeks—and it’s only been online for, like, four days. Anyone who has lived through any part of the ‘80s or watched a few MTV countdowns recognizes Norwegian pop band A-Ha as perhaps the greatest one-hit-wonders ever for their classic first video. “Take On Me” was groundbreaking for its time, winning six MTV Video Awards, and, in many ways, it remains so today. But if you’re like me, you never quite learned the words, which is somehow what makes this literal translation of those memorably bizarre moving sketches even more hilarious. I don’t want to give away too much. Enjoy.
